Michael Caye was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and trained with the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School for four years. He also attended the  Point Park Summer Program from the ages of 10-15. When Michael was 16, he was a finalist at YAGP in New York, and received a scholarship with Miami City Ballet’s Pre Professional Program the same year. He danced roles such as Balanchine’s Tarantella, Mathew Neenans Penumbra, and works by Durante Verzola and Ariel Rose in their School’s Spring Showcase. During his last year at MCB, he had the opportunity to choreograph on the students in the Pre Professional Program and performed “West Side Story Suite” with the company. After graduating from the school he received his apprenticeship with Nevada Ballet Theatre and was promoted to Company Artist after his first season. Since joining the company Michael has performed principle and soloist roles in ballets by Ben Stevenson, James Canfield, Yuri Possokov, Septime Webre, Nicolo Fonte and George Balanchine. Michael has guested with Terpsicorps Theatre of dance as a company member and has taught as a faculty member with Point Park International Summer Dance as well as well as the Nevada Ballet Theatre Academy.
