Having a young family and starting a new business venture were all encompassing as a younger man. But after what happened the very next morning, changed the scope of our lives. I watched “Live” the 2nd plane slam into the South Tower, I was concerned for not only my family, but our country. What would come next, will there be another building targeted, and what would come after this day.

Then out of complete tragedy, I saw America come together. The America that stood as one nation under God with the conviction and patriotism to last decades. It’s time for that America to return, and to Celebrate America and the things that bring us together versus the forces trying to tear us apart.

What does this have to do with Ballet one would ask? It has everything to do with the freedom ballet ultimately represents. The Freedom to work together, applaud each others accomplishments, Hold each others hand when needed and to come together as Americans. Freedom was attacked on that day, just 20 years ago, and Freedom was defended in order to allow the expression of Ballet and the Arts to flourish. It’s because of our great members of our military, our first responders, and the generosity of the American People that pulled the nation back together from those events.

Here at BPTV and BPOC, we want to give back. We are giving away 50 Seats at our BPOC Gala Performance on Sept 24th at 7pm in the Brea Curtis Theatre to our Service Members in the Armed Forces and their families.
